Elissa Greeley: Better Together When Everyone Does What They Do Best
ADOS Consulting, LLC
Tired of waiting for a client’s books? Frustrated by messy and incomplete data that comes in at the last minute? Elissa Greeley from ADOS Consulting, LLC, has been there and asks a simple question: “Why can’t everyone do what they do best?” In her years of experience helping small- and medium sized businesses with their accounting, she knows that many businesses wait too long to collaborate with a financial professional. Or if they do, the collaboration is so disjointed that ultimately neither the client or the accountant is able to do what they do best, leading to wasted time and energy.
According to Greeley, the secret to ending this loop of mutual frustration is partnering with an independent bookkeeper from the start. When a small business collaborates with a bookkeeper, it is able to concentrate on their core business, while leaving the specialized and disciplined process of accounting to someone who knows and understands accounting from every aspect.
And ideally, they should partner around the same tool, which for Greeley is fast becoming Microsoft Office Accounting. While she has been a Quickbooks expert for years, Greeley sees Microsoft Office Accounting as the growing favorite among small- to medium-sized businesses, particularly in the retail industry. Greeley cites Microsoft Office Accounting’s superior contact management, easy integration, and low learning curve as big selling points. “Since a vast majority of business owners are already using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office Accounting is an easy fit”, says Greeley.
Greeley also thinks Microsoft Office Accounting helps clients and financial professionals build better relationship by making communication easier. Even when both parties work in very different ways, the software allows them to speak the same language when it comes to what matters: growing a successful business. So Greeley feels her job is far from done when Microsoft Office Accounting is installed and implemented. Instead, her goal is to show every one of her clients how they can use the software to increase their productivity and improve the quality of their financial interactions through collaboration.
